David was our tour guide in Kyoto in March of 2025. He is fluent in French, Japanese and English!
He is extremely learned and knowledgeable about Japanese history, culture, customs, etc.
We greatly enjoyed his company and the information that he shared. We visited Nijo-Jo Castle at a leisurely pace and David's commentaries added so much to our understanding. Especially with gardens, David has a wealth of information to explain the various elements. We shared tea and David explained aspects of the tea ceremony. With some questions, he followed up with answers the following day. We most highly recommend David if you're seeking a tour guide in Kyoto!

I’ve recently become a semiannual business traveler to Japan, interested in exploring the country’s history and culture. I was referred to Japan Experience by a former colleague and was extremely fortunate to have been assigned to David Cos as part of my Kyoto by Bike tour. David took the time to ask about my interests in advance and then customized a fantastic day that truly exceeded my expectations. David is extremely knowledgeable and he really educated me about the sites we were visiting, and so much more about Japan in general. David is really passionate about sharing the history of Japan and he takes great personal pride in his work. I highly recommend David to anyone visiting Kyoto.
