Certified English Interpreter Guide accredited by Kyoto, Uji, and Otsu cities — top performer in Kyoto's training program and selected for Japan’s elite government program for VIP luxury travel.
Having lived in 7 countries for 30 years (the US, Canada, the UK, Malaysia, Russia, Vietnam, and Iran)— including 9 years in the U.S. (California, New York, and Texas) — I bring a truly global perspective and deep cultural understanding to every tour.
I am also a descendant of Hijikata Toshizo, one of Japan’s legendary “last samurai.” My family runs a private museum dedicated to his life and legacy, and I was raised with a deep respect for traditional Japanese culture and the spirit of bushido.
At Expo 2025 in Osaka, I served as a dedicated VIP liaison at the Japan Pavilion, hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, assisting royal families and world leaders while honing advanced VIP protocol and hospitality skills.
Before becoming a guide in Japan, I worked as a licensed NYC tour guide, British Airways cabin crew, medical interpreter, and TV reporter — all roles focused on connecting with people and sharing cultures.
I love showing not only Japan’s famous landmarks but also hidden local gems off the beaten path. I mainly guide in Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Uji, and Tokyo upon request.
From fun B-grade street food to elegant luxury experiences, I create customized private tours that match your interests and leave unforgettable memories.
I look forward to welcoming you and sharing the true heart of Japan!I
