Hi! My name is David, I'm a french licensed guide-interpreter based in Kyoto.
I have studied japanese language, culture and history as my major at university and worked in the tourism industry for many years in Japan.
I love cycling around Kyoto, discover new places and unravel their mysteries.
I've been interested in japanese traditional arts for many years now and even studied the Urasenke tea ceremony with a tea master. I would be more than happy to help you experience an authentic tea ceremony.
During my training as a professional guide-interperter, I studied traditional crafts and traditional culture and would be glad to introduce them to you.
My personal objective is to help improve tourist travel experience in Japan by:
- Introducing famous tourist spots under a new light, to help you learn about their history instead of just limiting yourself to nice pictures but also help repeaters rediscover them in depth.
- Exploring hidden gems in Kyoto, to get away from the crowd and enjoy a more authentic experience.
- Helping you experience proper japanese culture, instead of meaningless tourist oriented experiences.
